Garry Golden is a professionally trained futurist and strategy consultant based in Brooklyn, New York. He holds a Masters Degree from the Futures Studies program based at the University of Houston, and is a member of the Association of Professional Futurists.![]()
Garry has held positions with the Center for Houston’s Future, assisting business civic leaders in understanding local and global issues critical to the region’s success. Most recently he worked for The Futures Lab, Inc. – a futures consultancy firm which helps to set direction for major corporations.
Garry has consulted on projects with IBM (Almaden/ALIA), Harlequin (Romance) Enterprises, and Cobb-Vantress (of Tyson Foods). He is currently involved on separate projects related to the future of transportation infrastructure and next generation biofuels. His experience with corporate futures projects also includes the future of energy, logistics, language translation/localization, and the evolution of web based business services.
In addition to strategic consulting, Garry presents at colleges and companies around the nation on the changing nature of parenting, youth culture and digital lifestyles of the social web. He also writes and speaks on potential 21st century growth industries for MBA Entrepreneur programs and investment organizations.
Based in Park Slope Brooklyn, Garry grew up in Philadelphia, PA and has lived in Madison, WI (B.A., UW-Madison); Kathmandu, Nepal; Dharamsala, India; Cambridge, MA, Austin and Houston, Texas.
He is a member of the Association of Professional Futurists (APF), and graduate of the University of Houston Futures Studies program (M.S.).
